An explosion of rhythm and energy. Establishing themselves as favourites with audiences around the world, this Catalan four-piece continues to receive acclaim for their atmospheric fusion of precision tap dance choreography and masterful Spanish guitar, all with the spontaneity of improvisation. Tap Olé audiences can expect another astounding dance experience featuring body percussion and the evocative sand dance, which was danced at the beginning of last century in the U.S.A. and has all but disappeared, nowadays. The show was created for the Chicago Human Rhythm Project's program RITMO, at the Vittum Theatre on May 16 2003 with big success and received exceptional reviews in the Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune, and also appearing at the NBC channel. TAP OLÉ has also performed at the New York Tap Festival 2003, where the audience gave an up-standing ovation. Audience Award in the International Valladolid Festival 2004 (Spain) and big success in the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2005, International Feet Beat Tap Festival 2006 in Helsinki and New York Tap Festival 2006, touring Croatia, Italy and Panama, and Sold Out Award and fantastic reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2007 and 2008, among others. They also have the bigger show “Tapeando” that had the premiere in Barcelona and toured Germany on Febrary 2010. The tap dancers Guillem Alonso and Roser Font are well known international soloists, who have performed around Europe and U.S.A. in shows like Fire of Dance, Barcelona Rhythm Tap, Camut Band “Life is Rhythm”, American Tap Dance Orchestra or Manhattan Tap, among others. The guitar players Roger Raventós and Daniel Figueras have been working together for long time, and combine classical music skills (they are teachers of different conservatories) with influences of other styles like flamenco, rumba, latin or jazz.
